Hart's Local Grocer's plans to open a locally owned, independent full service grocery store in the City of Rochester. The $3.6 Million project is projected to create 64 new jobs. Hart’s will be the first grocery store to open in downtown in more than a decade. View Project Summary

In 2012, BVR Construction Company Inc., a contractor specializing in heavy steel work, dam & waterway construction, concrete repair & construction, pre-cast concrete construction, shotcrete repair, heavy machinery work and specialty & stone masonry, undertook a $1.3 million building project in the Town of Chili, to house its growing business. The Culver Road Armory, a 100,000 square foot World War I era armory, underwent a massive multi-million dollar renovation that combined modern design elements with the armory's historic character and now houses a mix of professional office space, a restaurant and specialty retailers. Mahany Welding Supply Co., Inc. expanded their existing facility to expand manufacturing space as well as training space for welders, blacksmiths and glass blowers. Rochester Arc & Flame Center is the only training facility in upstate New York to offer professional and recreational classes in welding, glass working and blacksmithing.

Rochester Precision Optics, a leading optics manufacturer providing components and full optical systems to both defense and commercial markets, was formed in 2005 when it acquired the manufacturing technology, intellectual properties and assets from Kodak Optical Imaging Systems, which was closed due to downsizing. The Genesee Brewery, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States and is part of North American Breweries. Once a century-old packaging center, The Genesee Brew House has transformed the 9,200 square-foot space into a beer destination for upstate New York and beyond. The first floor of the Brew House features interactive exhibits, multi-media content, a gift shop and a pilot brewery complete with a tasting bar. Hammer Packaging Corp., founded in Monroe County in 1912, is a commercial printer producing over 22 billion labels per year for some of the world’s most recognized brands including Chef Boyardee, SoBe water, Nestea, Soft Scrub, Wegmans and Del Monte. Hammer undertook a $715,000 expansion to house a new nine color Variable Sleeve Offset Press. That will enable Hammer to meet current customer demand as well as grow this segment of their business.
